Dr. Surinder Bazaz

Dr. Surinder Bazaz is the Senior Director of Cardiac Surgery at Medanta – The Medicity in Gurugram, bringing over 42 years of distinguished experience in cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery. A fellowship-trained cardiac surgeon with an MCh in Cardiac Surgery from PGI Chandigarh and an MS from the same institution, Dr. Bazaz has established himself as a leading cardiac surgeon across India's premier healthcare systems.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bazaz has developed exceptional depth in complex cardiac procedures. He has been instrumental in performing thousands of open-heart surgeries, with particular expertise in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair and replacement surgery, aortic root replacement, and minimally invasive cardiac techniques. His facility performs approximately 4,500 open-heart surgeries annually, placing him at the centre of high-volume cardiac surgical practice. He manages patients through all stages—pre-operative assessment, intra-operative execution, and post-operative care—often as the independent operating surgeon for routine and complex adult cardiac cases.

Dr. Bazaz has built his reputation across India's most respected cardiac centres. He spent over 26 years at Apollo Hospitals and 14 years at Escorts Heart Institute before joining Medanta, where he now leads the CTVS team.
