Dr. Kulbhushan Singh Dagar

Dr. Kulbhushan Singh Dagar is a pioneer and leading authority in the surgical treatment of complex congenital heart defects, particularly in neonates and newborns. Currently serving as Principal Director, Chief Surgeon and Head of Neonatal and Congenital Heart Surgery at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, he has built a career spanning more than 29 years during which he has redefined the standards of paediatric cardiac surgery in India.

Dr. Dagar is especially recognised for his exceptional technical skill in managing the most demanding congenital cardiac cases — those involving complex heart defects at birth that require immediate, high-precision surgical intervention. He implements innovative surgical techniques alongside cutting-edge technologies to achieve outcomes that are internationally benchmarked, and his work is widely considered an asset to the cardiac surgery community both nationally and internationally.

His surgical career has encompassed senior leadership roles at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre (EHIRC), New Delhi — one of India's pioneering cardiac surgery centres — and at Lotus Children's Hospital, Hyderabad, where he established and led the Paediatric Cardiac Programme. Dr. Dagar received his foundational surgical training at S.N. Medical College and Hospital, Agra University, where he completed both his MBBS and MS in General Surgery. He then pursued his MCh in Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at G.B. Pant Hospital, Delhi University — one of North India's most prestigious centres for cardiac surgery training.
