Dr. Ashutosh Marwah

Dr. Ashutosh Marwah is the Director of Paediatric Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. He is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. After completing his degree in Paediatrics, he went on to train in Paediatric Cardiology at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

He has more than 20 years of experience in treating children and adults with congenital heart diseases. He is well versed in imaging of complex cardiac conditions in children as well as foetuses. Dr. Marwah has performed over 2,000 diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and more than 1,200 therapeutic cardiac catheterizations in children, including balloon septostomy, coil and device closure of various cardiac defects, balloon aortic and pulmonary valvotomies, and stent placement in coarctation, pulmonary arteries and PDA.

He has travelled to many countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Fiji, Uzbekistan, Iraq and Pakistan and has coordinated with local physicians in providing consultations and treatment to many patients. He regularly receives patients from these countries for further treatment in India. He has also been responsible for training many young doctors — domestic and international — in paediatric cardiology and conducts regular outreach clinics in various parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. He is a life member of the Paediatric Cardiac Society of India and the IAP.
