What is Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy?
Intraperitoneal chemotherapy delivers anticancer medicine into the abdominal cavity through a catheter or as part of an operative pathway, creating different exposure from an intravenous infusion. Delivery may use an implanted peritoneal port during repeated cycles or occur in theatre as part of a defined procedure. The route, drug, temperature and surgical component must be named.
