Dr. Nutan Agarwal — Head of Department – Gynae in Delhi NCR

Dr. Nutan Agarwal is Head of the Department of Gynaecology at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, in the Delhi NCR, with more than 38 years of experience. Her profile spans obstetrics and gynaecology, infertility and IVF, and reproductive endocrinology including PCOS management.

Much of her surgery is done through the hysteroscope and the laparoscope. She performs hysteroscopic myomectomy and hysteroscopic polypectomy, laparoscopic endometriosis surgery and laparoscopic myomectomy, and pelvic floor repair surgery, and her list also includes robotic gynecologic oncology surgery. She manages abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts, performs ovarian cyst surgery, and on the obstetric side offers planned cesarean section and advanced obstetric surgical care.

She qualified MBBS and took her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King George Medical College, Lucknow, where she also completed a post-graduate programme. She holds a DNB, FICOG, FRCOG, FMAS and FICRS. Her later training was international: a fellowship in reproductive medicine in Sydney, a fetal medicine fellowship at King's College Hospital in London, and a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology from the Ian Donald Medical School in Croatia.

She is Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has served as Vice Chairperson of AOGD and chaired its endocrine committee, is Executive Secretary of the Apnee Endoscrine Society of India and Vice President of the Society in PCOS and Metabolic Syndromes, and sits on the executive of the Delhi Society of Prenatal Diagnosis. Her awards include the Times 40 Under 40 in 2019 and recognition for her work developing Asherman Syndrome management.
