Dr. Atul Mathur

Dr. Atul Mathur is a renowned interventional cardiologist working as the Director and Chief of Intervention Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in Okhla, New Delhi. He is also the President of the Indian Council for Carotid Interventions and of Cardiovascular Therapeutics India — positions that reflect both his clinical authority and his national leadership in the field of structural and endovascular heart procedures.

A pioneer in complex coronary procedures, Dr. Mathur also specialises in endovascular interventions including carotid stenting, aortic stent grafting, and peripheral arterial and venous angioplasty, as well as structural heart interventions such as TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), MitraClip, LAAO (Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion), BMV (Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty), and Adult VSD Closure. The First Indian doctor to obtain a US patent for a medical device used in performing Carotid Artery Stenting, Dr. Mathur has been a technical innovator throughout his career.
