Dr. Ashish Tomar — Director of Orthopaedics & Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery in Delhi NCR

Dr. Ashish Tomar is Director of Orthopaedics and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, in Delhi NCR, with more than 18 years of experience across spine surgery and orthopedics.

His list covers the cervical and lumbar spine. He performs spinal fusion surgery, spinal deformity correction and spinal stenosis surgery, treats slip disc, and carries out revision surgery after failed back surgery. He also operates on spinal tumours and spinal trauma.

He read MBBS and took his MS in orthopaedics at UCMS, University of Delhi. Three fellowships follow, and all three are named on his qualifications as well as in his training record. He trained in minimally invasive spine surgery under Prof. Kokubun at Sendai Nishitaga Hospital and in cervical spine surgery and deformity correction under Dr. K. Abumi at Sapporo Orthopaedic Hospital, both in Japan, and took a further fellowship in spine surgery at Boston. Two separate periods of training in Japan, one in minimally invasive technique and one in the cervical spine, line up directly with the departmental role he now holds.

He is a member of the Association of Spine Surgery India, the Indian Orthopaedic Association, the Indian Medical Association and the Delhi Spine Society, and the Indian Medical Association gave him its Young Jewel Award.

He practises at Sarvodaya Hospital in Sector 8, Faridabad, where his directorship covers orthopaedics alongside the minimally invasive spine work.
