What is Foreign Body Removal by Bronchoscopy?
Bronchoscopic foreign-body removal extracts an inhaled object from the larynx, trachea or bronchial tree using flexible or rigid bronchoscopy and retrieval forceps, baskets, snares or suction. Acute aspiration can be an airway emergency, while retained objects can cause air trapping, collapse, infection or granulation.
