What is Peritoneal Dialysis?
Peritoneal dialysis uses the peritoneal membrane and a catheter to exchange dialysis fluid at home or in hospital, when residual function and training already write PD rather than in-centre HD. Dialysis fluid is instilled through a peritoneal catheter, dwells, then drains. CAPD uses manual exchanges; APD uses a cycler overnight. Infection-prevention steps are part of the product.
