What is Enteroscopy?
Enteroscopy uses a specialised endoscope, often with a balloon or overtube, to reach farther into the small intestine than a standard gastroscopy when a target has already been identified. Under sedation or anaesthesia, a balloon or spiral enteroscope is advanced from the mouth or the colon. The named segment is inspected and treated if indicated.
