What is Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)?
Endoscopic ultrasound uses an echoendoscope to image the gut wall and adjacent organs such as the pancreas and bile duct from inside the digestive tract and may allow guided sampling. An echoendoscope is passed like an upper endoscope. Ultrasound images guide inspection and, when indicated, a needle samples a lymph node, pancreas or other target.
