What is Glenn Procedure?
The bidirectional Glenn connects the superior vena cava to the pulmonary arteries, directing upper-body venous blood to the lungs as staged palliation for selected single-ventricle hearts. The operation creates a passive upper-body venous route to the lungs and may include pulmonary-artery reconstruction or adjustment of prior sources of pulmonary blood flow.
