Dr. Toufic Ata

Dr. Toufic Ata is Medical Director and Consultant in Laparoscopic Bariatric and General Surgery at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, bringing over 21 years of experience in advanced surgical care. He specializes in minimally invasive procedures across bariatric surgery, colorectal conditions, and oncologic cases, with additional expertise in endocrine surgeries of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands.

Dr. Ata holds a medical degree from the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut and a Master's in Surgical Sciences from the University of Paris XI. He is board-certified by the European Board of Surgical Oncology, reflecting his advanced training in complex surgical oncology.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Ata serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery at UAE University and as Designated Institutional Officer at Burjeel Hospital, where he oversees academic affairs and postgraduate medical education. Prior to this role, he held senior surgical positions at Medeor 24×7 Hospital in Abu Dhabi and multiple teaching hospitals in Lebanon, including Bellevue Medical Center, St. George Hospital, and Hotel Dieu De France. He is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and German.
