About Dr. Sudhir Dubey
Dr. Sudhir Dubey is the Chairman of Neurosurgery at the Neurosciences Division of Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram. With over 27 years of experience in neurosurgery, he has performed more than 10,000 neurosurgical operations including pituitary surgery, skull base tumour resection, and complex spine surgery. He is widely regarded as one of the finest neurosurgeons in India.
Dr. Dubey graduated from King George's Medical College with the prestigious Sir Rupkishan Das Gold Medal in his final year MBBS. He then trained in Neurosurgery at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore — India's premier neurosciences institution — where he was awarded the Silver Jubilee Award for excellence. His cutting-edge work on brain tumour surgery was recognised internationally at a conference in Sydney, Australia in 2001.
Dr. Dubey holds the distinction of being the first, and to date the only, person from India to receive the Young Neurosurgeons Award conferred by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) — the highest honour in the field for young neurosurgeons globally.
He has pioneered the use of endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques for brain, skull base, and spine surgery at Medanta, bringing neurosurgical care to the highest international standard. His areas of expertise include deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, stereotactic radiosurgery, endovascular embolisation, cerebral angioplasty, and complex spinal deformity correction.
