Dr. Sohani Verma — Senior Consultant in Delhi NCR

Dr. Sohani Verma is a Senior Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in the Delhi NCR, with more than 35 years of experience across obstetrics and gynaecology and infertility and IVF.

Minimal access surgery carries much of her operating list. She performs laparoscopic hysterectomy and laparoscopic myomectomy, hysteroscopic myomectomy and hysteroscopic polypectomy, laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, ovarian cyst surgery, pelvic floor repair surgery and therapeutic dilation and curettage. On the obstetric side she provides advanced obstetric surgical care and planned cesarean section, and she also manages abnormal uterine bleeding, ovarian cysts and chronic pelvic pain.

She holds an MBBS and an MS in obstetrics and gynaecology, and her further training was a fellowship in reproductive medicine and gynaecological surgery. Before her present post at Apollo Hospital in South Delhi she was associated with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and with Fortis Hospital, both in New Delhi.

Her academic record is substantial. She has co-authored the best paper at the All India Obstetrics and Gynecology Annual Meet on polycystic ovary syndrome and associated conditions in more than one year, and has been recognised at the AICC RCOG. She has published and presented research on cervical cancer prevention, polycystic ovary syndrome and recurrent pregnancy loss at national and international forums.

Her other honours include the Liberal Memorial Award of FOGSI and the Dr. Batra's Positive Health Award. In professional bodies she has served as Vice President of the Delhi Fertility Society and as an executive member of both the Delhi Gynecological Society and the Indian Fertility Society.
