Dr. P. Usha — Visiting Consultant in Chennai

Dr. P. Usha is a Visiting Consultant at Rela Hospital in Chennai, with more than 19 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Her list mixes benign gynaecology with a gynaecologic oncology subspecialty. She manages uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, post-menopausal bleeding and menopause. Operatively she performs hysterectomy by laparoscopic and vaginal routes, myomectomy and laparoscopic myomectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, endometriosis surgery, endometrial ablation and pelvic organ prolapse surgery.

Her qualifications were taken in Chennai. She read MBBS at Stanley Medical College between 2002 and 2007, then took her MD in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Madras Medical College, between 2010 and 2013. Her minimal access qualifications are the D.LAP and the FMAS. She returned to Madras Medical College for a post-doctoral fellowship in gynae oncology between 2018 and 2020, which is the origin of the oncology strand in her practice.
