Dr. Manoj Padman

Dr. Manoj Padman is a renowned Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon in India with a distinguished career spanning two decades. He is presently the Director of Pediatric Orthopedics at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. Dr. Padman is considered one of the best surgeons in India for the correction of deformities and congenital defects in children.

His primary interest includes birth anomalies, hip pathologies, post-infective and post-traumatic sequelae, and limb reconstruction surgeries. These are some of the most technically demanding procedures in orthopedics, requiring not just surgical skill but a thorough understanding of a child's musculoskeletal development and long-term growth considerations.

Prior to joining Fortis, Dr. Padman worked in other prestigious orthopedic centres in North India, including Max Healthcare, New Delhi. He earned his medical degree from the esteemed Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, and later became a Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations in Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Padman's career took him to the United Kingdom, where he spent 10 years working in various orthopedic departments at University hospitals in Leeds and Sheffield. During this time, he achieved a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS) and passed the intercollegiate exam in Trauma and Orthopedics in 2008. He also conducted research on biological reactions to different materials used in arthroplasty, earning a Masters in Research from the University of Leeds in 2004.

Specialising further, Dr. Padman completed a fellowship at Sheffield Children's Hospital, focusing on pediatric orthopedics. With a commitment to advancing orthopedic care and a wealth of experience in both adult and pediatric orthopedic surgery, Dr. Padman returned to India in 2009. He is a faculty presenter at numerous orthopedic conferences and has several publications in national and international medical journals.
