Dr. Mai Mahmoud Abdelsalam

Dr. Mai Mahmoud Abdelsalam is a Specialist Orthodontist at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, with 12 years of clinical experience in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She holds a bachelor's degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Egypt and an M.Sc. in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from Dubai, completed on a Zayed fund scholarship. She also completed professional training through Harvard Medical School in basic medical sciences.

Dr. Abdelsalam's clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment, including examination and management of dental malocclusions and oral cavity anomalies. She has specialized training in orthodontic mini-implants, pre- and post-orthognathic surgical cases, and adjunctive orthodontic treatments. She is proficient in designing and fabricating appliances to realign teeth and jaw, and possesses in-depth knowledge of oral anatomy, physiology, histology, and tooth morphology.

Her technical capabilities include bracket installation (ceramic, metal, and Damon systems), archwire manipulation and placement, band fitting, and the full range of orthodontic procedures and techniques. She works with both traditional appliances and modern technologies such as digital X-rays and 3D imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Abdelsalam is fluent in Arabic, English, French, and German.
