Dr. Abdelmagid Eltayeb

Dr. Abdelmagid Eltayeb is Head of Department and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in shoulder and upper limb surgery at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi. He holds 35 years of clinical experience and trained in orthopedic surgery across the United Kingdom, developing expertise in complex joint reconstruction and arthroscopic techniques.

Dr. Eltayeb is recognized for pioneering work in the UAE, including performing the first total elbow replacement in the country in 2016 and introducing computer-assisted shoulder arthroplasty. He has extensive experience in primary and revision upper limb joint replacement procedures, including resurfacing, hemi-arthroplasty, total anatomical, and reverse polarity arthroplasty techniques. His clinical scope encompasses arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery, upper limb trauma management, and treatment of elbow, wrist, hand, and peripheral nerve pathologies.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Eltayeb is an active educator and examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons. He holds an Honorary Lecturer position at Hull and York University in the UK and has organized and led an annual instructional shoulder arthroscopic course for over a decade. He regularly contributes as faculty to international orthopedic conferences and meetings.
