Dr. Bharat Shah is Director and Head of the Nephrology Department at Gleneagles Hospital in Mumbai, with more than 46 years of experience. His profile records nephrology together with kidney transplant work.

His award-winning papers span nearly a quarter of a century of annual conferences of the Indian Society of Nephrology and the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation, from 1996 to 2020. He has delivered the Dr. V.N. Acharya Oration, the J M Patel Oration and the Khullar Award Oration, three of the named lectures by which the specialty recognises senior figures.

He received the Dronacharya Award from AVATAR in 2018, a name given for teaching rather than for clinical work, and an Olympian Honours Award from Cadila Healthcare-Zydus Group in 1997, the same year as his French scholarship. He practises at Gleneagles Hospital in Parel.
