What is Skull Base Surgery?
Skull base surgery approaches selected lesions at the interface of the nose, ear or neck with the cranial base, often using endoscopic endonasal or lateral routes with a combined ENT–neurosurgery team. Depending on the lesion, the team works through the nose with endoscopes or through a lateral otologic or open approach, removes the planned tumour or disease, and reconstructs the skull-base defect.
