What is Aneurysm Coiling?
Aneurysm coiling fills an intracranial aneurysm with endovascular coils, sometimes with a stent or balloon, so blood no longer circulates in the sac. From a groin or wrist puncture, a microcatheter is navigated into the aneurysm. Coils are deployed, with stent or balloon assistance if written. The patient recovers with puncture-site and neurological observation.
