What is Cerebral Palsy Orthopedic Surgery?
Cerebral palsy orthopedic surgery addresses contractures, hip displacement or lever-arm problems that already limit a child's gait, sitting or care, after a paediatric orthopaedic and often a gait-lab review. The surgeon lengthens or transfers selected tendons and, when needed, realigns bone so that sitting or walking can be more efficient. Tone management remains a medical partnership, not an implant upgrade.
