What is Foreign Body Removal?
Endoscopic foreign body removal retrieves a swallowed object from the oesophagus or stomach when timing and anatomy make endoscopy the appropriate tool. Under appropriate sedation or anaesthesia, retrieval devices such as snares, graspers or overtubes are used. An airway plan is established first.
