Why consider treatment in India?
Many international patients consider India for arrhythmias treatment for several reasons, including:
More affordable estimates
Competitive indicative costs compared with many other countries, for similar clinical standards.
Internationally accredited hospitals
Hospitals experienced in treating international patients.
Experienced specialists
Doctors who regularly manage similar cases.
Care coordination support
A team to help with planning, medical translation and follow-up.
What is Pacemaker Implantation?
Pacemaker implantation is a minor surgical procedure in which a small electronic device is placed under the skin near the collarbone to help regulate an abnormally slow or irregular heartbeat (bradycardia). It is commonly recommended for patients with sick sinus syndrome, heart block, or other conduction disorders that cause fainting, fatigue, or dangerously low heart rates. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation and typically requires only a short hospital stay.
Who may be considered?
Pacemaker Implantation may be considered after a qualified specialist reviews your reports and medical history. Suitability varies from person to person and must be assessed by your treating doctor.
How does it work?
A conventional pacemaker with one or two leads is implanted via a vein under local anesthesia, with the device generator placed subcutaneously below the collarbone.
Single/Dual Chamber Pacemaker Implantation
Most PopularA conventional pacemaker with one or two leads is implanted via a vein under local anesthesia, with the device generator placed subcutaneously below the collarbone.
Comprehensive Investigations
ECG, Echocardiogram, Chest X-ray, CBC, Kidney function tests, Coagulation profile, Holter monitoring
Treatment / Procedure Estimate
Stay in India
Usually Included in Hospital Package

Recovery and follow-up
Most patients resume light daily activities within a few days and can travel back home after the wound heals and the device is checked, usually within 7-10 days; strenuous arm movements and heavy lifting should be avoided for 4-6 weeks.
Risks
As with any implant procedure, risks include infection, bleeding, lead displacement, pneumothorax, or device malfunction, though serious complications are uncommon with experienced cardiac teams.
Alternatives
Depending on the underlying rhythm disorder, alternatives may include medication management, temporary external pacing, or, in select heart failure cases, a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device instead of a standard pacemaker.
