Dr. Yassin Ibrahim M. El-Shahat

Dr. Yassin Ibrahim M. El-Shahat is a Consultant Nephrologist and Head of the Department of Nephrology at Burjeel Medical City in Abu Dhabi. With more than four decades of clinical experience, he has held senior positions in nephrology and hypertension at leading healthcare institutions across the region, including Al-Jazeera Hospital, SKMC, and Al-Noor Hospital Airport Road.

Dr. El-Shahat completed advanced postgraduate training in France, earning a Maitre-es Sciences Medicales in Nephrology and Hypertension from Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, followed by a Certificat d'Etudes Speciales En Nephrologie from Rene D'Escart University (Academie de Paris) and a Diplome d'Assistant Etranger in Nephrology from Pierre and Marie Curie University. His clinical expertise spans dialysis management, renal transplantation, and the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension.

He serves as Chair of the Arab Society of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation – PD Chapter and maintains active memberships in multiple international academic societies. Dr. El-Shahat is an accomplished author and researcher, having contributed numerous peer-reviewed articles to international journals and edited the Arabic edition of "Hypertension: The Silent Killer." He is fluent in both Arabic and English.
