About Dr. Parthi Srinivasan
Dr. Parthiban Srinivasan — widely known as Dr. Parthi Srinivasan — is one of the most accomplished liver transplant and hepatobiliary-pancreatic (HPB) surgeons practising in the Gulf today. He brings more than 30 years of experience at the very highest level of his specialty, including nearly three decades at King's College Hospital in London, one of Europe's premier liver transplant centres.
Dr. Srinivasan completed his MBBS at Madras Medical College, University of Madras (1988) and obtained his FRCS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (1993). He achieved his FRCS (General Surgery) through the Intercollegiate Board of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2004, completing his Specialist Training (CCST) in the same year. He pursued highly specialised training that included courses in liver transplantation at Hammersmith Hospital London, organ retrieval at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, microvascular surgery at Northwick Park, and the Hesperis advanced transplantation course through the European College of Transplantation.
He joined King's College Hospital, London in 1997 and was appointed Consultant Surgeon in Liver Transplantation and HPB Surgery in 2006. In 2019 he became Clinical Lead in HPB Surgery, Living Donor Liver Transplantation, Islet Cell Transplantation, and Organ Utilisation — and was designated UK National Proctor for adult-to-adult living donor liver transplantation, a position of national clinical authority.
Over his career Dr. Srinivasan has performed more than 1,200 liver transplants and over 2,000 complex liver and pancreatic resections, alongside extensive major laparoscopic procedures. He established the liver transplant programme at King's College Hospital Dubai and personally performed the first series of liver transplants there. He has also performed islet cell transplantation, having trained at the University of Alberta, Canada, under the St John's Ambulance Travelling Fellowship (2002). He now brings this extraordinary volume of experience to Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, where he sees international patients from across the Gulf, Africa, and South Asia who require liver transplantation or complex HPB surgery.
