Dr. Mona Ahmed Raouf Alshafiee is a General Practitioner with over 38 years of clinical experience in family medicine. She earned her MD from Zagazig University, Egypt in 1984, and initially worked in the university's forensic medicine and toxicology department before relocating to the UAE in 1989. She is now based at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Alshafiee's clinical expertise encompasses the diagnosis, management, and long-term follow-up of chronic medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, thyroid and endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, asthma, anemia, and depression. She specialises in the care of women's health and postmenopausal osteoporosis, and performs ankle-brachial index (ABI) screening in diabetic patients to assess for peripheral arterial disease.
