Dr. Mohammed Halawani

Dr. Mohammed Halawani is a Consultant Neuro & Spine Surgeon at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, bringing more than 20 years of clinical expertise in neurosurgery and spinal procedures. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and completed advanced neurosurgical training at the University of Ottawa and University of Calgary.

Throughout his career, Dr. Halawani has held significant leadership positions, including Chairman of Spine Surgery at King Fahad Medical City and Head of Neurosurgery and Spine Divisions at multiple prestigious institutions across Saudi Arabia. He was instrumental in establishing the Johns Hopkins National Guard Epilepsy Surgery Program and co-founded the Arab Spine Association, demonstrating his commitment to advancing neurosurgical practice regionally and internationally.

Dr. Halawani has performed over 3,000 complex surgical procedures and is recognized as a leading authority in minimally invasive spine techniques and oncological spine surgery. His academic contributions include authorship of textbook chapters on surgical techniques and co-authorship of peer-reviewed research on spine surgery evidence assessment. He speaks Arabic and English.
