Dr. Ameet Valia is one of Mumbai's most experienced dermatologists, with over four decades of clinical practice in both medical dermatology and cosmetology. Based at Gleneagles Hospital in Parel, he is trusted by patients across India — and increasingly by international visitors — for his calm, evidence-based approach to complex skin conditions and cosmetic concerns alike.

Dr. Valia's academic journey began at the prestigious Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals in Mumbai, where he completed his MBBS and Diploma in Dermatology. He went on to earn his MD in Dermatology from the Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University, one of India's most respected centres for postgraduate medical education. That blend of clinical rigour and academic depth has shaped everything he does in practice.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Valia has contributed meaningfully to Indian dermatology beyond the clinic walls. He edited the first three editions of the IADVL Textbook of Dermatology — a foundational reference for skin specialists across the country — and has served as editor of the dermatology bulletin What's New in Dermatology, STDs and Leprosy? since 1993. He has been a regular voice at national and international dermatology conferences, and has served on the editorial boards of several journals in his field.
