What is TLIF (Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion)?
TLIF reaches the lumbar disc through a unilateral transforaminal window so that a cage can restore disc height while screws and rods stabilize the segment, usually with less bilateral root retraction than PLIF. The surgeon removes enough facet to enter the disc from one side, prepares the endplates, places graft and cage, and completes instrumentation.
